Throughout the Spring of 1916, 11th West Yorkshire of 69 Brigade, 23rd Division, were operating in the area of the Western Front just to the north of Arras. Towards the end of March, 1916 they were in the front line in the Angres sector and it was here that Albert Smith was killed in action on 3rd April, 1916. At present there are no further details concerning his death. |
